Paris-based CREED's exclusive, authorized distributor in the U.S. is International Cosmetics & Perfumes, Inc.

This site — and all of CREED’s official activities in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico — are handled exclusively by International Cosmetics & Perfumes, Inc. (ICP), a privately held, family-run company based in the Empire State Building in New York. ICP works directly with the CREED family in Paris as their only official and authorized presence in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. The senior executives of ICP are dual citizens of France and the United States.

By arrangement with the CREED family, ICP undertakes a number of activities for CREED, including the exclusive import of authentic CREED products from the family in France into the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

ICP is the official distribution channel that brings guaranteed authentic CREED products to clients at the CREED store at 794 Madison Avenue in New York (1-877-CREED 44), at this site, at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and their websites, at select Saks Fifth Avenue stores, select Nordstrom’s stores, select Bloomingdale’s stores, a small number of hand-selected, independent stores around the U.S. and at Holt Renfew and Ogilvy in Canada. Goods purchased elsewhere are of unknown origin.

As CREED’s authorized presence and representative, ICP also handles human resources, communications and other duties in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico for the CREED family.

However all CREED products themselves are created by sixth-generation master perfumer Olivier CREED, his son, Erwin, and a staff of approximately 35 people working in a single location in the French countryside. The creative process is entirely by Messrs. CREED and their team in France. A small, family company, CREED has no laboratories or scientists creating fragrance as some major corporations do, no production schedules, no market testing or consumer focus groups. Neither does ICP. But our next post will tell you more about the creative and productive process at CREED, one of the fragrance industry’s smallest companies, still independent, passed from father to son in an unbroken line since 1760.
