CREED is very pleased to announce it is making available to the public one time only a very limited quantity of Vintage Tabarome — sometimes called Tabarome Prive or Private Collection Tabarome — a 19th century masterwork of fragrance by Henry CREED that commands an extraordinary following to this day.
Packaged in CREED leather-wrapped shatterproof atomizers sized at 1.7 ounces, Vintage Tabarome will be offered only at the CREED boutique at 794 Madison Avenue at 67th Street in New York City (1-877-CREED 44) and at www.creedboutique.com, CREED’s exclusive and authorized online boutique serving the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.
This small supply of Vintage Tabarome has been held in reserve by the President of CREED North America for VIP gift-giving and recognition purposes; however, in response to continued inquiries from valued clients, he has generously agreed to relinquish his reserve to the public.
Once it is gone, Vintage Tabarome will be completely unavailable. The CREED family stated this week in France it has no plans to create more Vintage Tabarome because several of its natural components are simply too difficult to source, despite the family’s extensive and longstanding network of growers, farmers and cultivators worldwide. Rather than use “substitute” ingredients yielding an inferior product, the family prefers to defer all production of Vintage Tabarome. It is a decision that places quality and artistry above all other considerations.
Created in 1875 by Henry CREED, Vintage Tabarome is a compelling, full-bodied fragrance. Sometimes confused with CREED Tabarome Millesime, which was created in the 20th century, Vintage Tabarome (or Tabarome Prive) stands alone as an ultimate statement of clubby luxury and quality. Its aroma wafted in England’s House of Lords as its primary clientele was those holding knighthoods and high office, including several Prime Ministers.
A dry, rich chypre fragrance, Vintage Tabarome has a top note that includes bergamot and citrus, a middle note that includes pepper and a base note of sandalwood, ambergris and pepper. Yet that is a mere outline that can barely describe this longtime favorite of the discerning. Mr. Erwin CREED, speaking from France this week, indicated there are more than 60 natural ingredients in this complex blend.

Is the spray bottle that Vintage Tabarome comes in a refillable atomizer with the funnel, or is it not refillable?
Thanks!
Thank you for the question.
The 1.7 ounce leather-wrapped shatterproof bottle (atomizer) in which CREED Vintage Tabarome is presented is indeed refillable. However it is not refillable with Vintage Tabarome, a fragrance that the CREED family no longer produces.
Clients ae welcome to purchase a flacon of a CREED fragrance other than Vintage Tabarome and have the new fragrance placed in his or her refillable bottle (atomizer) either by a CREED specialist or at home.
Again, thank you for the question.
I am very upset I cannot find the original Private Tabarome and Angelique Encens…any help with how I can find these? is the new Tabarome in question above the original or is it just Tabarome Milliseme (sic) in another container? As for the Angelique Encens I can find decants of it (like the Perfumed Court) but it is terribly expensive that way and you cannot get a substancial quantity…is there no place to find Angelique Encens? And, if not why?
Thanks,

Thank you for reading and for your questions.
As of March 29, 2010, a small number of bottles of CREED Private Collection Tabarome (also known as Tabarome Prive or Vintage Tabarome) are available at the CREED boutique at 794 Madison Avenue at 67th Street in New York City. The boutique is open seven days and can be reached at 1-877-273-3344 or 212-439-7777. The CREED staff there will be happy to assist you. These are the last bottles of Private Collection Tabarome available.
CREED Angelique Encens is no longer sent to the United States by the CREED family in France.
Certain beloved CREED fragrances from history utilize ingredients that today are increasingly scarce and unavailable in a quantity and quality that meet the exacting standards of the CREED family. Rather than use inferior “substitute” ingredients, the CREED family chooses to hand manufacture very small amounts of these fragrances or to halt production entirely. The CREED family understands the unfortunate disappointment this can generate, but their decisions place integrity and artistry above all other considerations.
