Warm Weather CREEDs

Summer sun

Warmer weather opens the door to a collection of CREED fragrances for men and women that are a lush trove of citrusy, herbal, floral or sea-fresh creations unequaled in power to revive and invigorate — the perfect complement to summer’s pleasures and antidote to the season’s heat.

CREED Erolfa is a bracing dose of cool sea air, a personal homage to CREED family outings on the Mediterannean Sea. Oceanic, cool and smooth as sea glass, Erolfa reveals beneath its shimmering surface fine herbal notes and citrus tones for the perfect summer scent. It gets its moniker from the names of master perfumer Olivier CREED’s beloved family: His son, Erwin, his daughter, Olivia and their mother, Fabienne. Few CREED fragrances are as refreshing and revealing as Erolfa, a true labor of love by Olivier CREED.

CREED Spring Flower

CREED's Spring Flower

Many readers have asked which are CREED’s most luxurious floral fragrances for Mother’s Day. It’s a fine question.

CREED Spring Flower in its exuberant pink bottle is a true harbinger of the season and holiday. The rose, queen of flowers, is brilliantly combined with superb peach, melon and apple in this blend that is now a hallmark of the House of CREED. It is an ideal fragrance for the occasion.

Less well known but just as enchanting is CREED Fantasia de Fleurs, an armful of luscious blooms in a bottle. Originally made for a legendary beauty, Empress Elisabeth (“Sisi”) of Austria-Hungary, Fantasia de Fleurs is a lively burst of floral joy, with Bulgarian rose, Florentine iris and a royal garden of other essences for CREED’s most lavish floral.

Holiday greeting from Spain's Crown Prince Felipe & Crown Princess Letizia

As the House of CREED celebrates its 250th anniversary in 2010, it also celebrates the distinguished clientele that has sustained it as the world’s only privately held luxury fragrance dynasty passed from father to son in an unbroken line since 1760.

At the CREED boutique at 794 Madison Avenue at 67th Street in Manhattan (212.439.7777 or 1.877.273.3344), a selection of letters and other communications from some of CREED’s most distinguished clients will be on display from April through December of this anniversary year.

Included are letters from President and Mrs. Obama, former First Lady Laura Bush, Crown Prince Felipe and Crown Princess Letizia of Spain, members of the British royal family, Olympic gold medalists, military heroes, the Mayor of New York City and others. CREED’s 19th century royal warrants from the Queens of England and Spain will also be on view.

CREED fragrances: What’s authentic, and what’s not?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

How can a consumer tell if a CREED product is authentic?  Or if it’s a fake?

Like most luxury goods companies, CREED receives this question often — as counterfeiters worldwide attempt to cash in by illegally deceiving bargain-hunting consumers with cheaply made, substandard replicas that contain substances never found in actual CREED products.  Meanwhile, disreputable Internet sellers offer aged or defective products to consumers shopping for luxury goods at mass market prices.

Counterfeiting affects virtually every luxury fragrance firm.  The January 2010 issue of Harper’s Bazaar includes an article about “faux fragrances” that quotes CREED’s CEO for North America and others. The article reveals some startling aspects of perfume counterfeiting, including unregulated, dangerous liquid contents and sales that benefit criminal organizations.  We recommend the article as accurate and informative.

How can you tell if you’re getting a genuine bottle of Green Irish Tweed, Imperial Millesime or Spring Flower?

CREED boutique at 794 Madison Avenue in New York

Buy CREED from an authorized retailer, and there is never a cause to worry.  In the U.S., Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and their websites, select Saks Fifth Avenue stores, select Nordstrom stores, select Bloomingdale’s stores, the CREED boutique at 794 Madison Avenue in New York City (1-877-CREED 44), CREED’s official online store, www.creedboutique.com, a handful of independent boutiques across America carefully selected by CREED, including Bluemercury, Joe Brand, Cos Bar and Fred Segal, and, in Canada, Holt Renfrew and Ogilvy carry guaranteed, authentic CREED products and stand by them proudly.  You can be confident when shopping these retailers.
