How Long Do CREED Fragrances Last?

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

Store CREED fragrances like wine.

CREED receives thousands of questions by email, phone, in person and via social media every year, and we thought we’d share answers here to some of the most commonly asked questions.

Many ask, “How long do CREED fragrances last?”

Sixth-generation master perfumer Olivier CREED is on the record as saying that authentic CREED fragrances stored properly — like wine, out of direct sunlight, in a place of moderate, consistent temperature — can last up to six years or more.  That means showering rooms are not a good place to store CREED because of the frequent increases in temperature there.

So purchase authentic CREED with the knowledge that your investment is one to enjoy for years to come.

New Ways To Stay In Touch with CREED

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

Since 1760, generations of the CREED family have adopted every technology for connecting with clients — even while CREED’s hand methods for crafting fragrance have remained largely unchanged over 250 years. Personal letters to clients announcing new products sent by London postal mail in the 18th century, telegraph and telephone service in the 19th century, Internet and email in the 20th century: CREED welcomes every avenue for greater client communication.

In 2012, CREED can be found on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/creedboutique and Twitter under the name @CREEDboutique. For clients in the US who wish to receive text alerts, text CREED to 25827. (Standard rates apply.) Soon, CREED will share news of exciting new products for the new year direct from the workshop of master perfumer Olivier CREED. We look forward to providing this information in the format you select.

CREED and New York Fashion Week

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

CREED is honored to be asked to join in special events by designers showing their collections on the runways during New York Fashion Week.  Yet CREED must respectfully decline.  All authentic CREED products are made by hand by sixth-generation master perfumer Olivier CREED, his son, Erwin, and a staff of just 35 people working in a single location in the French countryside.  With such hand production, scarcity is a hallmark of genuine CREED. Regrettably, CREED does not have a supply of spare hand-made products to offer even on the most inviting fashion design occasions.  CREED serves the needs and wishes of its clientele first, and still, demand vastly exceeds supply.

The CREED boutique at 794 Madison Avenue at 67th Street in Manhattan will participate in Fashion’s Night Out, however, on the evening of September 8.  Visitors to the store (212.439.7777 or 1.877.273.3344) will have an opportunity to sample all that is new from CREED for fall, including Royal-Oud, White Flowers and Original Cologne, new perfumed oils and more.

Silver Screen For Royal-Oud

Monday, July 18th, 2011

New CREED Royal-Oud for men and women has made a dramatic impression in the United States upon its arrival from France, first with a royal encounter in California and now a Hollywood casting call in New York.  Offered exclusively now at www.creedboutique.com before its appearance in stores, Royal-Oud was presented to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during their visit to Santa Barbara, as reported by The Wall Street Journal on July 2.

Now the production company behind the upcoming motion picture “What Maisie Knew” has requested Royal-Oud and a number of other CREED fragrances for set decor.  The upcoming film, based on a Henry James novella, stars Julianne Moore. CREED does not compensate any person or company for product appearances in movies or television.  Part of proceeds from US and Canadian sales of Royal-Oud benefits child health in India via the nonprofit www.globalgiving.org.

Orders Now Being Accepted for New Royal-Oud

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011

Excellent news for clients of our web boutique: Orders are now being accepted online exclusively here for new CREED Royal-Oud for men and women, the latest from sixth-generation master perfumer Olivier CREED in Paris.  Wood, leather, marble and gold — elements of a royal Persian palace – inspire Mr. CREED, an architect of fragrance, to create Royal-Oud.  Rare, hypnotic, sumptuous oud, an ingredient coaxed from agarwood trees of India — and more expensive per ounce than palladium — lends its power to this must-have blend.

CREED Royal-Oud gives the contemporary man and woman a touch of palace life, Persian and Parisian: days and nights amid sculpted and textured marble, fragrant wood, hand tooled leather and exquisite gold, a luxury oasis in a busy world.  Yet Royal-Oud offers mindful luxury.  Part of proceeds from US and Canadian sales of Royal-Oud will benefit child health via the nonprofit organization Global Giving.  Erwin CREED, 30, seventh generation of the house, obtained oud for Royal-Oud the way his ancestors did: in direct contact with local providers in India, respecting their livelihoods, priorities and traditions.

Gala Re-Issue for Feuille Verte (Green Leaf)

Friday, June 3rd, 2011

In addition to new CREED Royal-Oud, new CREED Original Cologne and new CREED White Flowers, clients this fall will have another choice in hand-crafted fragrance.

CREED Feuille Verte (or Green Leaf) will make a gala return to the US in November in very limited quantity exclusively at this site, at CREED at 794 Madison Avenue at 67th Street in New York (1.877.273.3344) and at special events at a handful of select luxury department stores across the US that carry CREED.

Originally presented in the US in 2006, Feuille Verte celebrates the country life of master perfumer Olivier CREED in Fontainebleau, France, where he lives, rides and, of course, creates fragrance in a world renowned workshop down a hidden country lane with his son, Erwin, alongside.  The fragrance evokes green leaves after the rain, newly cut grass and fresh earth in notes of mandarine, lime, oakmoss, vanilla, Bulgarian rose and absolute of jasmine.  Crown Prince Felipe of Spain received the first bottle in 2006.  This fall, just three hundred and fifty 8.4 ounce decanters of Feuille Verte will come to the US.

Offered separately will be a color-matched 1.7 ounce leather-wrapped CREED shatterproof atomizer.  If you have not already, please sign up for CREED’s free e-newsletter here to receive first word of the arrival of these exciting items.

CREED Mother's Day

Mother's Day with CREED

Clients many times ask which of CREED’s treasury of women’s fragrances is best for Mother’s Day. CREED offers a royal garden of floral choices.

Spring Flower by CREED in its joyous pink bottle is a sign of the season and the holiday. The queen of all flowers, the rose, is combined by hand with fragrant peach, melon and apple in this creation that is a CREED signature known worldwide. Spring Flower is perfect for the occasion.

Equally enchanting but less well known is the classic CREED Fantasia de Fleurs, with an armful of fresh blooms in each spray. Created for the beautiful Empress Elisabeth of Austria-Hungary, Fantasia de Fleurs is a luscious burst of floral joy, with roses from Bulgaria, Florentine iris and a royal mix of petals in perhaps CREED’s most expressive floral fragrance.

Fleurissimo by CREED is a statement of glamour and feminine charm, a continental blend of blooms made for a royal bride, elegant and serene. For the mother still young at heart, Fleurissimo beckons on this holiday. (more…)

CREED Original Santal

CREED Original Santal

A gift of CREED is a luxurious sign of affection on Valentine’s Day — or any romantic occasion.

CREED Fleurissimo was created by order of a prince for his American bride on their wedding day.  Fleurissimo is available to CREED customers today.

The luminous red bottle of Original Santal is a Valentine’s Day gift of lush sandalwood from India and other ingredients that inspire romance.

Citrus Bigarrade was the shared fragrance of a royal couple whose romance flourished in glamorous exile.

Other romantic selections include Love In White, worn by two First Ladies, and Love In Black, inspired by the brunette beauty of a First Lady who served too briefly, a lasting legend of stylish living and taste.

New Looks for Select CREED Fragrances

New Looks for Select CREED Fragrances

The bottles of some authentic CREED fragrances are changing, with new looks for CREED’s 250th year. The fine fragrances inside are unchanged, of course.

The new 2.5 ounce bottle of authentic CREED Green Irish Tweed now features more lush green and proudly bears the CREED crest and motto, De Pere en Fils Depuis 1760. However the 4-ounce bottle of CREED Green Irish Tweed is unchanged in its iconic and stately matte black flask.

The 2.5-ounce and 4-ounce bottles of CREED Tabarome have changed to include more club-leather brown, so right for this fragrance of British club luxury.
