Monday, November 14th, 2011

The November issue of Marie Claire Magazine presents new CREED Jardin D’Amalfi to an American audience for the first time, in a story about fragrances inspired by exotic locations.

Master perfumer Olivier  CREED with Jardin D’Amalfi conjures an elegant garden party on Italy’s glittering Amalfi coast on a summer day in 1927, when a performance by the American modern dancer Isadora Duncan captivated a continental audience.

Notes of tangerine, bergamot, French apple, Virginia cedar, vetiver and white musk  with a hint of cinnamon make this newest member of CREED’s Royal Exclusives collection a must-have for new and established fragrance connoisseurs.

Presented in an 8.4 ounce hand blown bottle etched with CREED’s crest, Jardin D’Amalfi can be enjoyed anywhere anytime with separate purchase of a CREED 1.7 ounce shatterproof leather-wrapped spray (or atomizer), offered in vibrant new colors, including Mediterranean Sky.

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

Magazine editors who’ve tried Royal-Oud are  lavishing  praising  on  the   fragrance.  In the October issue of Town & Country, a review of CREED   Royal-Oud calls it “a heady unisex fragrance with a sweet, irresistible smokiness.”  The magazine shares with readers the backstory of Royal-Oud, which contains the costly, fragrant resin oud gathered by Erwin CREED, 30, seventh generation of the house, from providers in India.  The magazine also notes that part of proceeds from U.S. sales of Royal-Oud will benefit child health in India via the nonprofit organization GlobalGiving.

Warm Reaction to Royal-Oud

Monday, August 8th, 2011

Royal-Oud is being warmly received as premier bottles arrive in North America.

“Our team is already addicted to CREED Royal-Oud,” one magazine editor wrote in an email to Paris-based CREED’s New York office.  A major newspaper style writer enthused in a private note, “It’s incredible!”   Another magazine scribe sent an email: ”I love it!”

A prominent team of two clothing designers praised Royal-Oud’s “sophisticated melange of notes” in a note to the company.  Of their upcoming Fashion Week runway presentation, they said: ”We’ll be wearing Royal-Oud on show day”.

“A peerless composition,” says ThePerfumeCritic.com.

To top it all off, a former President of the United States wrote to the President and CEO of CREED North America that finding Royal-Oud brought him “great pleasure.”

Wall Street Journal praises Love in Black, Spice and Wood

CREED love in Black & Spice and Wood

CREED Love in Black & CREED Spice and Wood

The Wall Street Journal in recent days praised CREED’s Love In Black fragrance, saying it “explores the concept of Parma violets in a modern way” and CREED Spice and Wood, which the newspaper called ”masculine and assertive” yet with a “delicate” note.  The Wall Street Journal also declared Erwin CREED, 30, among “the world’s top noses.”

In the art of fragrance, “nose” means ”perfumer”.  Erwin CREED is the seventh generation of the house, still serving as apprentice to his father, master perfumer Olivier CREED, creator of the some of the firm’s most popular and artistic fragrances, including Green Irish Tweed, Millesime Imperial and Aventus.  The CREED family gratefully acknowledges the Journal’s praise, as father and son work together to craft fragrances of royal quality for their clientele, aided only by a staff of 35 who handle bottling and shipping, all together in a single, rustic location in the French countryside.

Letter from Helen Gurley Brown

A letter of praise from legendary
editor Helen Gurley Brown in 2006

As CREED celebrates its 250th anniversary in 2010, a search of its archives reveals correspondence with legends of the 21st, 20th, 19th and 18th centuries.

One modern-day legend is the famed international editor of Cosmopolitan Magazine, Helen Gurley Brown. A trailblazer for women in their careers and elsewhere, Ms. Brown for decades has personified the glamour, independence and success of a national — and international — magazine editor who stays on the cutting edge of all trends. For this reason, it was CREED’s pleasure to send Ms. Brown a debut bottle of CREED Original Santal in 2006. She very kindly sent CREED a note that brought with it all of her unique style, energy and sophistication.

CREED Aventus

CREED Aventus 75ml

CREED Aventus is just beginning its festive debut in America, and already praise is being heard for the newest fragrance from Paris-based CREED.

On July 26, The New York Times enthused, “This mesmerizing mix of bergamot, apple and pineapple perched on wood and oakmoss is evanescent.”

And Esquire Magazine’s website reported that Aventus is “fresh and new” and “a fine addition to your dresser”.

Meanwhile, clients — male and female — from around the U.S. have written, emailed and called CREED with positive comments about the new fragrance. Aventus is not only a superb hand-made blend, it is also a very timely creation as a portion of proceeds from U.S. sales benefits the nonprofit organization American Rivers, which works to protect U.S. waterways from harm.
